Located in the historic downtown of Contoocook, NH., The Everyday Cafe is owned and operated by Christian and Lisa. This is their story.
Christian grew up in Contoocook, while Lisa was raised in Jackson, Mississippi. After Christian served in the US Army and Lisa graduated from college, they both moved to New Orleans, where they met, and history was in the making. One fateful summer in 2010, Christian returned to NH for a high school reunion and saw a small café in his hometown of Contoocook for sale. He told Lisa about the opportunity, and one month later, they both had quit their jobs in New Orleans, packed up a U-Haul trailer, and were back in New Hampshire to start a new chapter in their lives.
The Everyday Cafe opened in their first location, in the historic downtown of Contoocook, NH on October 4, 2010. The Everyday Cafe eventually outgrew the first location in Contoocook and moved to a bigger space a couple of doors down the street, where they currently operate today. Adding dinner and alcohol to their establishment in October 2014.
Time has certainly flown by and the little café has continued to grow and expand its menus and offerings growing into the well-rounded restaurant you now know. Today The Everyday Café offers a multitude of menus, including baked goods, coffee, breakfast, lunch, specialty pizzas (on Wednesdays), and dinner, complete with a well-stocked bar. The support from their community and travelers passing through this small town is humbling. Christian and Lisa are very proud of their history, their village, and the cafe!
